ABOUT US

We are driven by an unwavering commitment to the youth in the foster care system, specifically youth in the Dallas County Child Protection and Permanency Court. This commitment comes with knowledge that the youth are part of the community and we desire to empower the youth to be productive in the community.  We invest in their education, social mobility, therapeutic needs, and career and workforce opportunities

With the collective efforts of our board and with Judge Gonzales, we support youth who are placed with family and have little to no assistance in caring for the youth they have placed in their home.  We  provide support youth who need specialized treatment of services and have the ability to participate in normal life activities.  We believe that the investment to the families and youth will provide a lasting and transformative impact for the foster youth.

Learn More About Our Purpose

YOUTH AGING OUT OF FOSTER CARE

Children who graduate from high school and are moving into a new phase in their lives need support to either find their way to college or to assist them in seeking employment and housing. FIFK invests in foster children and their lives to support them in a smooth transition.

YOUTH PARTICIPATING IN NORMALCY IN THEIR LIFE

FIFK supports the Permanency Court of Dallas to assist children in need and to give them a normal life while in the permanent care of child protective services. The Court assists with graduation, prom, driver’s license, housing items, etc.

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

Our community is full of people who want to help. We work to help the people providing services with the people who need them. Come connect with people in new ways and join our cause to assist the foster children of Dallas County.
